Rooftop Refreshments: Orange Mint Cooler

My favorite part about Summer is spending it out on the patio or on a friend’s rooftop (C’mon, we all have that friend in the city that we call when we want to kick it on their roof).

I live in Denver though, so I am a mile closer to the sun, which means when I’m up on a rooftop – it is HOT!

If I’m drinking a beverage, it has to be cold and refreshing. That’s why I made this Orange Mint Cooler with Altos Plata Tequila – Altos Plata has citrusy notes so it was the best to combine with Orange for a fresh cool taste.

It’s almost like an orange-ade, and anything that ends in “ADE” in the Summer is a surefire way to cool you down underneath those rays.

Orange Mint Cooler
Makes 1
1 ounce Olmeca Altos Plata
1/2 oz Triple Sec
Mint
1 Orange
Mint Leaves

Directions

  1. In a glass, muddle slices of oranges and mint with 1 cube of ice. Swish around until the ice has melted enough so that it’s as if you’re making the base for orange-ade. The orange should have juiced out and the mint will give it flavor.
  2. Add your dash of triple-sec, stir.
  3. Add Altos Plata Tequila, stir thoroughly.
  4. Add ice
  5. Garnish with mint + orange slices
  6. Sit back and cool down!
